Crazy Singapore
Life has been frantic since we left Tioman - we took a bus to Singapore and are living in a shoebox hotel, but atleast it’s modern, clean and not tatty. It’s across the road from Little India and quite the place to be with the Deepavali celebrations.
So far we’ve been to the Night Safari, Sentosa Island and Wild Wild Wet - all very kid focussed but we’ve had a lovely time.
Tomorrow we subject them to some grown up style sightseeing and then bus up to Melaka for just one night. Then it’s off to the airport and home. Unreal - it’s been such a great trip and so long awaited and now it’s almost over. That said, the kids are keen to get home - to their own beds, their own space, their own cats and their own friends!

Dear family, Just got your latest letter, the time has flown, hasn’t it? Am so sas i won’t be here to greet you and hear all the latest news first hand but I will phone. I have posted you my itinerary and a fax which came for you, Sarah. Zoe is in the car waiting to go to the cattery so I had better get on my way. Am not packed properly as it has been very cold and now 25degrees is forecast for Kaikoura so I had better find some summer clothes!!!The whale watching is scheduled for Saturday. Claire G has organised a dinner for 10 tomorrow night. Hope all goes well for your last days and you have an uneventful trip home and find all in order when you get here. Much love, Bannyxxxxxxx

Hi to you all,
I bet you cant believe its almost over, its always the way when you’ve looked forward to something fo a long time! I am so pleased that its been such a successful trip and no real horrors (apart from your foot). Youve had some eventful experiences! I hope the last days are fun and you have a good, safe trip home. Your first weekend back will be lovely too, sleeping in your own bed is always the best bit about coming home I think. I wonder if the cats will snub you to tell you off for leaving them? Molly always does.
I heard a minor catfight this morning and looked out the window expecting to see my poor little puss being beaten up, but NO - she was seeing off the black cat who wanders across our garden! She wins her battles, poor Harry never did. She is incredibly territorial, amazing to see her go for invaders, especially as she is 16 and so tiny!
Had a busy work week, weather packed it in so no tennis, but I did have my golf lesson which was great as usual… I’ve been walking to work which was lovely until this morning when it p’d down with rain - I am NOT walking in the rain, bus tomorrow! Tomorrow night we are going out to see “Sleeping Beauty” (ballet) at the Royal Opera House and having dinner there, which is always a magical evening. A quiet Saturday evening planned watching X Factor and Stricty Come Dancing (I think you call it dancing with the stars) my idea of bliss.
Hope to talk to you on skype once you’ve got to grips with being home!
Lots of Love
Claire & Peter xxxx
